eprofile: van she

Van She are one of the most talented bands in Australia. Their live shows are incredibly tight and the musical output is heavenly, and something of an obsession of mine. The guys have an ACE new single out NOW called "Cat & The Eye," and that long awaited debut album will follow early next year, with a new single in February. To celebrate, Tomek, Michael, Matt and Nicholas as Van She feature in the first eProfile.

Changing Face.

So you’ve possibly come over here from my old home, I’m Always Right. Welcome friends, this is my new pad. For over a year now I’ve had the idea of launching Adem With An E.com. What I once thought was hilarious and cheeky in having a website named I’m Always Right turned into something I hated immensely. Over the last few months I’ve found the name somewhat arrogant and It was really getting to me. I know, it’s silly, but something needed to be done for my own sanity! I noticed also that I’d stopped writing as much as I could have - even more so because I’ve been working on the new site over the last few months.

So I’m pleased to welcome you here (scratch that - honoured,) and am hoping you will continue to read my nonsensical ramblings about pop music and glorified culture, download my hideously shit/unreal radio podcasts and comment feverishly at the end of my scribblings.

I have new things to launch on the site; first thing’s first - the eProfile. Once every 2 months I’ll be putting together a large (ish) post dedicated purely to a specific artist. The very first eProfile is of Van She, a Sydney band who I love and adore with all of my heart and who make my ears prick up with glee. I hope they get a similar reaction from you too.

Also, Vinyl Vednesday is on the way. Undecided as to whether it will be weekly or fortnightly, but it basically involves me plucking a lost classic from my vinyl collection, converting - from vinyl to mp3 - one track from said wax-work and uploading it here with a little story for you all to enjoy. Fun hey? Well I think so!

Also, during the next week my reviews from the Sneaky Sound System, Patrick Wolf and Robyn gigs I went to over the last seven days will find themselves online with pictures… and in one case, a couple of (exclusive!) video clips…

Remember that whole My Favourite Pop Record thing I got a bunch of ace bloggers to contribute to in DECEMBER LAST BLOODY YEAR? I just couldn’t bring myself to post it on IAR and really wanted it for the new site. So now that the new site is here, expect a big, fat chunky early Christmas present with a panel of our favourite pop bloggers. I need to publicaly apologise to all the amazing writers that put their hard work into that poll - I feel terrible that it’s taken so long!

I’m pretty excited about the new surrounds and have so much I want to write about, it’s given the remains of my brain a (much needed) new lease of life. Let me know what you think about the place - leave comments or if you’d prefer, just hit me an email. I do plan on leaving the old IAR site up online - probably forever - but I will be transferring over what I think are my best moments over the next few weeks from there to here.

x Adem. With an E.

    Kate was amazing.

I did take some shit pictures, and what not - but all I remember is the bit where someone threw a bra and she picked it up and started twirling it around.

    Random.

God bless her! I hope she makes it down under soon.
