eprofile: van she

Van She are one of the most talented bands in Australia. Their live shows are incredibly tight and the musical output is heavenly, and something of an obsession of mine. The guys have an ACE new single out NOW called "Cat & The Eye," and that long awaited debut album will follow early next year, with a new single in February. To celebrate, Tomek, Michael, Matt and Nicholas as Van She feature in the first eProfile.

Don’t Hold Onto The Past.

Apologies for the lack of updates; and it’s going to stay just as quiet around here until after the weekend. Am gearing up for what is going to be a mega-sad remains-of-the-week and will more than likely be away from the computer until Monday.

In 24 hours time, two of my dearest friends will have boarded a plane as they head into the sunset of their new lives overseas for, at least, 2 years. Which, for me, who sees them nearly every weekend, is practically like forever. =(

Matt & Stef; in the spirit of our friendship, I’ll miss you cunts.

.

Come home already this isn’t funny anymore. =(

take comfort in garfield :P I’m sending you cyber hugs. When i left all my american friends (after a few summers with them, i had to get a proper job!) I was distraught. One of them wrote me a poem - i can’t remember it all but the first few lines went like this:

“It’s hard to say goodbye and let go
And it’s hard to see it end
when the memories that we;ve shared will never happen again”

I was reading it on the plane and was blowing massive snot bubbles everywhere. Seriously i was shaking from crying so hard. It taught me two things - distance can not dampen a true friendship only make it stronger; and i look really ugly when i cry.

Sorry ’bout your pals moving. Two years will fly by!

Aw, doll, this exact same thing — two friends moving away — happened to me at the end of last summer:

I know how you feel. :-(

Paul: Thank you dear. That poem is gorgeous!

xo: I hope so. They’re coming back for a few weeks in a year for a wedding, then going back out again, so at least I’ll get to see them in between. Also, I’m not going to rule out saving up all my moneys and going to visit them for a bit at some point. This will happen AFTER I save moneys for the Madonna concert, however…

D’luv: Thank you. It’s so heartbreaking. One day I’m fine and, today, I got my first text message from one of them and completely broke down. WAAAH. =(
