The Promise is genius and Xenomania should be running the country. Just why Girls Aloud haven't cracked the Aust market (apart from JOY FM) is a mystery of gargantuan proportions

HAHA, thank you Phil! I love a good story.

Will, I strongly, strongly disagree. "Up" is an amazing song, yes, but any old slapper could have sung it. It's very well put together but that song doesn't shout "Oh, that's very The Saturdays, isn't it?" This isn't a bad thing, but it's the band themselves I have a problem with. The Saturdays are a boring, lifeless vessel whose puppet strings are practically in complete view in both of their video clips. "The Promise" is a complicated, joyous, intelligently put together pop song that only Girls Aloud could sing because it is filled with their personalities. "Up" may be a corker, but "The Promise" delivers a much stronger sense of longevity.

That cover! The girls never seem to trade on their looks enough, do they? Too demure. No one will buy this track. They need to show a bit more leg.

Interesting fact about the studio: I've shot there and it's in Hackney and was used for the original Dragon's Den show. For the second series the house next door was being demolished so the BBC asked if they could stop working for a payment. The builder's demands were so extortionate that they told him to eff off and then built an exact replica at Pinewood Studios.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Lyndsey: Let me think about this one a bit more!

Aaron: I honestly think if the girls had released something along the lines of Sexy or GO then I would have been really disappointed. The thing with Girls Aloud is that, with each album, they bring something different to the table. If they had launched this next record with a sound they'd already covered on the last one, I would have been incredibly worried. People were saying the same thing about "Biology" when that came out and, sure enough, only a few months later it became almost everyones favourite Aloud song.

Sally: No they are NOT Keisha.

Thanks for posting this - I was away for the weekend - So i totally missed it!!

Personally, I'm not sold on it. I was hoping for something a bit dancier & edgier - like Sexy! No, No, No... or Girl Overboard.

It's playing as I'm writing this comment - and I'm seriously compelled to turn it off - which is really disappointing!.
